March has been the month for new additions to the breakfast menu and these corn fritters are the latest special to come out of the kitchen. The fresh corn gives them a lovely crunch, while the sweetest roasted baby tomatoes go really well with the crispy bacon. Add a squeeze of lime – and tuck in. Just delicious.

Any regular visitor to Padstow will surely have eaten at Rojano’s in Mill Square. Recently taken over by Paul Ainsworth of the fabulous No 6 restaurant, this winter Rojano’s has undergone a massive refurbishment and is re-launching with a gorgeous, chic interior and new menu.

A host of locals were invited to try out the food last night, and we were treated to some delicious dishes.

Pizza and pasta are still firmly on the menu, but new additions like the antipasto starter, featuring great olives, artisan hams and salamis ooze Italian charm and authenticity.
One of the most stunning features of the re-design is a glass clad staircase which leads up to the first floor bar and terrace, where you can enjoy a glass of vino and choose nibbles from a tempting grazing menu.
Paul has created a place where you go to share great wine & food in a relaxed atmosphere – what could be better?
The official opening is on Tuesday and we think it’s set to be more popular than ever – a definite to put on the ‘must do when in Padstow’ list.

In honour of Shrove Tuesday, Emma has been making ricotta hotcakes, which taste a bit like a lemony American style pancake.
With a twist on the usual maple syrup, these are served with homemade honeycomb butter – a gold flecked, crunch sensation butter – which is seriously delicious. Anyone who likes something sweet for breakfast will love these!

Browsing in one of our favourite haunts, Acorn Antique Interiors (just along the Camel Trail from Padstow) we came across the most beautiful Victorian wardrobe.

A unique piece, it is just the right dimensions for the Estuary Room and will mirror the panels of the French doors to the balcony.
The wardrobe will be a stunning addition to the feel and design of the room, and will also offer our guests on longer stays a capacious amount of storage.
We can’t wait to see it in place and hope everyone staying in the Estuary Room this year will love it as much as we do.
It seems that every winter we take on some renovation work and this year we are focusing on the Bay Room.
We don’t want to detract from the things our regular guests say they love about the room; it is beautifully light, with great estuary views, so we are maximising this with a palette of whites and grays. We’re also adding a gorgeous new French carved bed and wardrobe.
Photos of the finished room coming soon…
